Why should you pick me to design your school website?
Primary Teacher
I was a primary school teacher for 37 years in total (2 years in Clane BNS and 35 years in St Pats BNS, Castlebar). I worked in mainstream for the first twenty years of my career and as a learning support teacher for the remainder. I was ICT Co-ordinator, website designer/admin in St Pats. During my time in the school we were involved in several important ICT initiatives, Schools Integration Project (SIP), Dissolving Boundaries, Comenius Project (based on Lexia Reading software) and Young Scientist Exhibition (Primary Section).
ICT Tutor
I have been an ICT tutor since 1994. I completed a Masters in ICT's in Prim Ed in 2000 and received the H.Dip in SEN in 2004. My interest and passion for ICT tutoring has never dimmed. I have tutored web design (using Dreamweaver, Front Page, Publisher, Web X5 and laterally Wix). I have also given courses on Word, Ppt, ICT Resources, Video, ICT and SEN, G Suite and more.
Since finishing teaching full time, I have assisted primary schools with ICT integration. I have worked with pupils on G Suite, Word and coding in schools in both Mayo and Sligo.
With Covid-19 having such a huge impact on the importance of links between school and home, I have been involved with multiple webinars for Seesaw and Classroom for Sligo and Mayo EC's
Website Design
One of my aims on retirement from primary teaching was to make myself available to primary schools to assist in whatever way I could - a new challenge and one I was happy to take on board. The most requested support has been for website creation or website updating.
To date, I have worked on creating websites for 15 schools in Mayo/Sligo. In all cases this also involved initial staff training on site maintenance (from mobile phone or iPad). I have endeavored in each case to reflect the ethos of the school and to provide an individual website that all are happy with.

TRAINING
Training can be provided to school staffs or pupils of the school as required.
Training is available (via Croke Park hours, staff training days etc) throughout the school year in all the following areas:

Seesaw - from the very beginning to creating and adding own activities from scratch.

Google Classroom - including, if required, setting up of class groupings and adding pupils to each class.

G Suite for Education - including applying for G Suite for your school, sourcing domain, verifying and changing MX files to allow the school emails to come through G Suite.

Website maintenance for staffs - using the Wix blog.
